3 Blockbuster Inspirational Speeches That May Blow You Away

We enjoy movies for their action, adventure, cinematography, special effects, as well as the hot babes and hunks. But movies also allow us to learn the art and science of writing inspirational speeches!

Here are 3 movies containing some of the greatest inspirational speeches that caught my attention.

Movie #1: Independence Day – World Independence Day Speech

I saw Independence Day when it first came out in 1996. Aside from the film’s gripping plot and lifelike special effects about an alien invasion of Earth, it was President Whitmore’s (played by Bill Pullman) inspirational speech that caught my attention as he rallied his troops from America (and from around the world world) for a last stand against the annihilation of mankind.

“… July 4th will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day when the world declared with one voice: “We will not go quietly into the night! We’re not going away without a fight!”

Movie #2: Braveheart – Freedom Speech

Another great film about heroes and war. This film tells the story of the legendary thirteenth-century Scottish hero named William Wallace (portrayed by Mel Gibson). Wallace rallied the Scots against the English monarch and Edward I (portrayed by Peter Hanly) by rallying a band of amateur warriors against the professionally trained English army.

“And if you die in your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade every day, from this day to that, for one chance, one chance only, to come back here and tell our enemies they can take our lives, but they will never take our freedom?!”

Movie #3: Rocky Balboa – How Hard It Can Get Hit Speech

Longing to recapture a bit of his glory days, Rocky (played by Sylvester Stallone) entered the ring for a few low-key, local matches. All that changed when Rocky accepted the challenge to fight reigning world heavyweight champion Mason “the Line” Dixon (portrayed by Antonio Tarver).

In the film, Rocky gave a speech that reflected his true life story (the true story of Sylvester Stallone and how he fought his way to stardom). Many words of wisdom in the speech:

“It’s not about how hard you get hit, it’s how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can endure and keep moving forward.”

Conclusion

And there you have it, 3 wonderful films to watch over the coming week if you haven’t seen them all yet. Get inspired and learn a tip or two from the inspirational speeches that were memorable from these films.
